This project has been developed in collaboration with the Jamaican National Heritage Trust (JNHT) to enhance the Cultural Tourism in Jamaica by promoting a number of significant heritage sites and historical places which will expand the tourist attraction of the island and increase the employment opportunities.

With the expected growth of the number of tourist arrivals in the next few years, there are great opportunities for the tourism sector to create robust linkages between the existing All – inclusive tourism model and a Cultural Tourism model, and therefore to spread out the benefits of the tourism industry to those communities far from the main economic centres but rich in tangible and intangible heritage.

In this context, the SJF and JHNT have developed a Memorandum of Understanding that lays down the objectives and activities conducive to strengthening these linkages and promoting heritage sites and historical places as interesting tourism products which will equally attract national and foreign tourist.
