Honouring Sponsors Of The King Of Spain Ward At The Spanish Town Hospital
On Thursday September 17, 2009, the Spanish Ambassador to Jamaica, Jesus Silva hosted an appreciation ceremony for several of the sponsors who contributed towards the newly constructed King of Spain Ward at the Spanish Town Hospital.
The Ward, which was officially opened by their Majesties King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain during their State Visit in February 2009, boasts 34 new beddings, a new space for patient’s internship, a completely renovated nursing station as well as a physiotherapy section for special treatments.
The sponsors, the likes of whom included representatives from Soctiabank, LIME, Tankweld, Wisynco, Digicel, JPSCo and Carimed, were presented with certificates of appreciation for their contribution to the establishment of a well needed facility. Expansion is expected to continue as they have been granted a further 300,000 Euros.
